SPACE-COMPLEX "ROSS" |
| ''ROSS' Space Complex (SC 'ROSS') is a radar-optical satellite system which is designed to address the following tasks: Orbital injection of SC 'ROSS' is carried out in the altitude from 250 km to 300 km on 'Foton' or 'Resurs' carrier. Upon orbital injection and separation, SC 'ROSS' is put on autonomous non-oriented flight (from 1 to 2 months). Structure of ROSS satellite permits stable observation of its movement from the Earth in the ultrashort waves range and optical range. SC 'ROSS' mounted on base

![]() From 1989 till 1992 six 'PION' satellites (prototype of 'ROSS') were successfully launched. We propose to establish an International Association 'Atmosphere Research Group' with the purpose to maintain 1-2 operating SC 'ROSS' on the orbit and coordinate measurements and information processing by the National Research Center in order to provide constant access to the unified model of upper atmosphere density. SpecificationsSC "ROSS" mass - 50 kg SC 'ROSS' diameter - 350 mm Space complex total mass - 160 kg |
